The Passing of Mr. Al Moumin, Sabih
Mr. Al Moumin was a devoted scholar of Arabic literature. He earned two degrees in Arabic literature, Middle Eastern Studies, and Linguistics. Mr. Al Moumin enjoyed reading poetry, he wrote verses for his late wife, Mona whom he loved deeply. Mr. Al Moumin was an expert on the modern history of the Middle East region. He read many books and owned a large library consisting of more than 3000 books. All of these books were donated to the University of Baghdad in June of 2005 under his name.

المغفور له السيد صبيح عبدعلي المؤمن. مثقف وباحث عراقي حاصل على شهادتين بالادب العربي والدراسات الشرقية. كان محباً للشعر والادب. كتب قصائد اهدها لزوجته المرحومة منى راشد طبارة. المغفور له كان موسوعيا جامعا للادب والسياسية والتاريخ الخاص بالمنطقة العربية. اقتنى العديد من الكتب و كان يملك اكثر من ثلاثة الاف كتاب. اُهديت هذه الكتب باسمه الى مكتبة جامعة بغداد في حزيزان من عام 2005. الرجاء لكل من يقرأ هذه السطور أن يقرأ الفاتحة للمرحوم ويطلب له المغفرة والرحمة
I am so blessed to have known Mr moumin and shared part of his live journey. He is a father, a friend, and a teacher. I learned a great deal from him about Iraq's history and politics, Islam, the Middle East and other topics. He is an encyclopedia well versed in many topics, and I always enjoyed his company. He is a great loss to all of us. I will miss him dearly. His memory and kindness will live in our hearts forever. May the Lord bless his family and loved one with all the strength and patience.
